Riken Raptor Tires
I have a 1999 Mercedes CLK 430 with 17" wheels.
If you look around the forums, this car has a reputation for eating up expensive tires. Particularly because this car has staggered set wheels with directional tires.
Well, I really did not want to spend 1,000-$1,500 per set every 10,000 miles.
The guys at Autotire hooked me up with Riken
tires. At first I though they were no name, but it turns out they are owned by Michelin.
They cost just under $500, installed (for all four).
My last set lasted 23,000 miles, which is huge for this car.
I would recommend checking out this brand.
