difference between p235-65R16 WS60 p235-65 R16 WS70 tires

We have 2 tires size p235-65R16 WS60 that have good tread. In order to try to match these 2 tires we have to go to p235-65 R16 WS70 on our 2009 Equinox.

Will this be safe? When calling the dealer they said WS60 are no longer manufactured. Do we have to buy 4 new tires again?

Editorial Comment:

WS60 and WS70 are model number which apparently apply only to Blizzak tires made by Bridgestone. It is common for tire manufacturers to change tire designs from time to time with the intentions of introducing improvements and older models (i.e. the WS60) being replaced by the newer ones.

As long as you are staying with the same tire size you do not have to replace all 4 tires however any benefits you might get from the improvements which were made will not be fully realized until you have all 4 tires the same. One thing you will want to do to make sure the changes are best utilized if you do change only two is to make sure you have the same model tires mounted on the same axle.
