what size inner tube to use

by John

i need a inner tube for a 205/75d14 tire and wondering what size it takes for the tube.

Comment:

Because inner tubes expand and contract with the air that in in them, you seldom need a specific size as long as the tube you choose is designed for the diameter tire you are using. So in your case you could use GR13/14/15 and get satisfactory results.

Using inner tubes
by: Wheels Etc

I strongly advise against the use of inner tubes for vehicles used on the highway. You neglected to mention a reason but normally it is thought that a tube will correct a mysterious leak. The leak can come from the tire or the wheel and in either case should be repaired rather than "hidden". Failures in tires or wheels seldom stop when hidden by using a tube and can lead to serious problems as the cause of that failure expands. Remember inner tubes are rubber only and have no strength factor. Have your tire and wheel assembly checked by a professional and allow him to decide if the failure is repairable. Keep in mind that pin hole damage on the sidewall is repairable in most cases and only real pros know that. Too many Tom, Dick or Harry's will tell you otherwise from lack of experience.
In addition, adding an inner tube also adds to the heat built up while driving on a tire. Heat is the major cause of early tire failure.
