Noise levels
I have a 2001 Mazda Miata, and I recently bought 4 new Sunny brand tires with a treadwear of 480, I don't remember what the treadwear was on the old ones, all I remember is that they were Bridgestone.
Since I replaced the tires, now the interior noise level is higher that before. I am getting a humming noise that I was not getting before I replaced the tires. I replaced the hub bearings and replaced the shocks and I am still getting the humming noise. I assume is coming from the tires.
My questions is do tires with a higher treadwear make more noise?

Editorial Comment:
Treadwear, it itself doesn't --or shouldn't-- make any difference in noise level. It could be that in changing to a different brand or tire design with a different treadwear, you are also getting a different design in the tread and rubber compounds which could affect the amount of noise generated by the tire.
