I have reached a point in my life similar to that of your old Ford Econoline. I am sagging and so is the front of your van. You need to replace the front springs along with the shock absorbers and then align the front end. You may find when you begin this project that other steering linkage parts have worn beyond adjustment and you may be looking in wrecking yards for parts that may no longer be available new. We used to sell a shock with a spring wrapped around it just for this problem. I would think that is a little more difficult to find today.
