I am concerned about the Monte Carlo. The size 225/60R16 was originally on the larger Impala and Caprice. If the Monte Carlo is as heavy as the Caprice the smaller 205/65R16 is not enough tire. On the other hand if the Monte Carlo is as I suspect about the same weight as the Altima I would consider the exchange reasonable and will not present any significant problems. I would look in the handbook from the Monte Carlo for the original and optional sizes of tires for the that model. If you choose to make the exchange anyway be aware that "low riders" on the West Coast put very undersized tires on their Monte Carlos all the time but do not drive them for everyday use. It is not safe but seems to work for them.
