Unusual wear
by: Wheels Etc

I am guessing you have an expensive load leveling hitch with which you transfer some of the load from the hitch forward all the way to the front axle. I have seen this system actually remove all the load on the rear axle, I mean the rear tires were off the ground. Obviously you could not move the vehicle with the rear axle off the ground but if you have transferred so much of the load forward that it causes the alignment out of adjustment and cause the wear or it could simply be overloading the front tires to the extent they simply wear out quickly on the shoulders. The outside shoulder wear is common to vehicles that are driven on roads with a number of turns with or without the extra load of a trailer.
