Because you'll have a round footprint rather than a flat one, you'd likely have a reduction in traction, in braking performance and in steering. Apart from the profile, consider the possibility that there are different components in the tire's construction, which implies that their resistance to heat and the life of the tires are going to be different. The weight the tires are designed to carry is likely to be different. Some of these differences might make a positive effect, while other's would be a definite negative.
