tires and rims
by: Anonymous

I just bought a corolla that has P195/65R15 tires. I own 4 snow tires that are 205/55/R16. If I buy 16" wheels for the snows, can I change tires for the winter with the right size wheels?

Dangerous Situation

Dean, if what you report is accurate your friend's Chevy is an accident looking for a place to happen!

I'm really concerned about the mounting of 17 inch tires on 16 inch rims. If this really happened she should drive (very slowly) as soon as possible to the closest tire dealer and put on tires that fit her rims (or change to larger rims).

Even safer yet, would be to take off all the wheels where the truck now stands and carry them in another vehicle to a shop to have them changed.

This is a serious problem. If she has larger diameter tires on a smaller rim she is running a risk that in some sudden manouver that the tire will slip off the rim -- and who knows what disaster that might cause.

Please! Forget about what her turning radius is until you get this problem solved or she could be turning into a coffin!
