Chevy Silverado and premature wear on General Tires

General Tire Poster
I have a Chevy Silverado Long Bed Truck, 2007. 10,600 miles on which I had General Tires.
The front tires had to be replaced at 6,500 miles.
The rear tires now need replacing at the above mileage.
No signs of uneven wear or incorrect inflation just worn out.
Anyone got any clues?
Initial Response from TIW
Without more detail and/or photos, it is difficult to give a clear diagnosis.
What size and type of tires were used? Were these originally supplied with the vehicle when new? What kind of experience have other owners of this specific vehicle had with their tires?
What kind of roads and driving conditions has been experienced? What kind of loads have been carried in the vehicle?
Has there been any modifications to the vehicle, such as a suspension change or raise or lower it?
Has the vehicle been uses consistently by the same driver all the time? What is the driving style of this person?
Has the vehicle been used in any place where the tires are exposed to any chemicals or other substances that other vehicles might not experience?
All of these factors could result in changes in the way a tire wears. Gather up the answers to these questions and discuss them with your tire dealer or mechanic.
Sometimes tires will have a manufacturing defect, but these rarely affect more than one tire at a time unless there is a massive recall.
If you have any conditions or factors which might cause accelerated tire wear and these are not dealt with, changing the tire brand will not likely result in any significant improvement.
